I am a business analyst with an interest in learning new technologies. I believe I offer a pragmatic contribution to projects, balancing the conflict between perfect solutions and time constraints.I feel at home in a financial setting, having over 30 years experience there. My interest in numbers prompted me to acquire an accounting practice licence a few years ago. I am honoured to have worked at blue chip financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley, Old Mutual (was Gerrard & King at the time), Barclays and NatWest. My primary focus is business analysis but occasionally I have been asked to get involved in design and development, particulary database and web technologies. I believe data analysis is one of my strengths.Perhaps less popular now but I think that process mapping, balancing and data flow diagrams still have much to offer and I am pleased that I have had considerable experience with these techniques. I have also utilised many project methodologies including waterfall and Agile.In terms of general office tools, I am well versed in Microsoft Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Word, Project and VBA.
