As the Power and Signal Distribution Systems (PSDS) Lead Engineer, I am responsible for designing, implementing and integrating the entire PSDS for vehicle programs. A position within the Product Development Team that requires interfacing with colleagues around the world, as well as, integrating a team of supplier engineers. Closely working with vehicle program teams, other Product Development engineering groups such as interiors, body, purchasing, marketing, and manufacturing.

 Oversaw 17-person team for Thailand- and Nicaragua-based manufacturing facilities, managing client’s power and signal distribution system engineering for the 2005-2009 Cadillac STS Sedan and the 2010-2012 Cadillac CTS Sedan/Wagon/Coupe. Served as engineering liaison for customer, manufacturing group, tier-1 suppliers, sales, and program management and facilitated cross-functional meetings; communicated cost/time modifications to customer approval board. Interfaced and negotiated with program management to establish milestones; coordinated engineering activities and developed and introduced new processes. Tapped as expert in customer processes and software, providing training to new engineers in design procedures, client-side software, and company policies as well as structuring training guides and programs based on personnel needs.  Reviewed and approved designs, change proposals, and VMEs based on customer requirements; proposed solutions to logistical issues and conducted root cause analysis for problematic areas, formulating corrective action plans.

 Developed wire harnesses for full-cycle vehicle production, proving vital in roll-out of the 2005-2009 Cadillac STS; represented customer during quality and launch meetings.  Compiled and completed engineering change requests, created solutions to address complex build sequences, and recommended cost and time savings opportunities to customer and key stakeholders.  Provided multi-level support for Design for Six Sigma efforts, integration vehicle builds, system/program engineering teams, and manufacturing/customer quality organization.

 Led team of four personnel, ensuring compliance with General Motors’ vehicle manufacturing standards for design of electrical wire harnesses; participated in formulating engineering-based specifications.  Instituted validated product and engineering change requests as well as reworked design procedures for cost efficiency.  Ensured communication between on-site engineers and designers in Mexico, addressing and resolving issues.
