 Execute dry bulk vessel’s operations in the most efficient and effective manner. Verify port and cargo details and issue voyage instructions.  Determine bunker requirements for each vessel based on forward schedule and bunker availability in various ports in order to arrange the most economical bunkers and increase bottom line of each fixture.  Appoint agents in accordance with COA/CP.  Review pro-forma D/A’s and place agents in funds for vessels under my control.  Review FDAs and approve same in order to finalize port costs of each voyage. Monitor vessel’s progress and inform all engaged parties accordingly in a timely manner.  Calculate laytime upon completion of discharge and forward to the costumer.  Reach agreement with customer and issue demurrage/despatch invoice. Handle commercial claims such as vessel’s under performance, laytime disputes, bunker claims, etc.  Work closely with chartering department in order to assist on securing vessel’s next employment.
