The main UK site was redesigned using value stream mapping to consolidate what remained and simultaneously absorb three other existing UK sites and one new acquisition .During the consolidation a Policy deployment & UK lean model was installed and became the Global model .The total restructuring yielded a reduction in heads of 110 via lean and 80 in work transfer. The role included responsibility for all NW Europe plants, annual budgets and new model commercial negotiations.The JLR site was launched successfully at a record best quality ppm of 50. In France the customer quality metric dropped from 12000 to 200 ppm and resulted in a follow on contract.Final full year figures in 2005 generated 101m GBP EBIT from JV partner supplied components and 3.5m GBP from the standalone Assembly plants -
