Reporting directly to the CIO, established 3 projects to deliver the programme and worked with the architecture department to define a cohesive solution architecture for a coordinated release. Working alongside the Programme Manager, managed a team of 50+, including Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers and Test Specialists to define, coordinate and deliver the programme prior to Christmas 2012.Since the programme went live, it has been recognised as a major success, with all sales and revenue records broken. Additionally, to provide technical expertise into IND’s major business change programmes that had reach across the Home Office. After a short assignment to deliver an EAI positioning white paper for Waitrose, engaged by PWC to review and to provide an architectural vision for the PatientFirst Alliance’s bid to the NHS, valued at approximately £1.3bn. On delivery of the architectural piece, an extension was offered to the end of the bid process (31st October), to lead the technical work streams and the Technical Design Authority (TDA), working directly for the PFA.The role combined strategy with day to day hands on design work and included:· Responsibility for the end-to-end solution architecture including Information Security.· Production of supporting documentation to meet the demands of the bid process.· Liaison between Alliance members on technical maters and with regard to management of resources.· Technical lead on presentations to the Authority both to the end user community (130 people) and specialist panels.The final solution design included both .NET and J2EE web enabled components, all networking requirements (LAN & WAN), an end-to-end PKI, Security infrastructure (DMZ, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, Individual/Machine identity management etc), Server configuration, multi site clustered Oracle databases, SAN technologies and also legacy integration.
