I am a focussed and motivated civil engineer with a strong academic background and a good understanding of engineering principles. I am able to work in and lead teams to plan and manage construction projects and I am committed to delivering quality projects safely.I have recently joined GP Friel Ltd. as General Manager. My objective is to learn how the business operates and apply my project management skills to improve and systemise it. I am targeting sustainable growth by building on a successful brand, maintaining key customer relationships, working closely with supply chain partners and recruiting/training skilled people. I want to leverage off our core capabilities and current market conditions to grow our presence and create customer dependency in some related specialist sectors.I have worked for major civil engineering contractors in the UK and NZ on a series of complex projects with an emphasis on structures and with a high proportion of temporary works. Throughout my career I have applied a logical approach to ensure that my projects have a robust plan and can deliver.
