After 16 years in the Royal Air Force I followed my heart and hobby to build up an extremely successful Independent Land Rover dealer. Re-designed the steel Top Tailgate of the Range Rover Classic and manufactured the 'British' All Aluminium Unit. Having been associated with the Independent Land Rover Industry since the 1970s my experience on type and business knowledge has helped to mentor fledging companies within the industry blossom through sound business advice. Diversifying into the purchase and sales of overage and surplus new Land Rover parts came in 2010, specialising in sourcing rare parts for the restoration of classic Land Rover ranges. 2014 saw the sale of the rights to the tailgates. 1 August 2013; Paintman Paint Ltd born, specialising in heritage vintage and classic car paint in Synthetic Coach Enamel.2014; Finalist for North Nottinghamshire Businessman of the year.2015; Paintman Paints awarded Finalist for Excellence in Customer Service2016; Awarded the Micro Business of the Year AwardMay 2016, took delivery of our first Series Land Rover body panels and launch of the www.paintmanpanels.co.uk platform2016: Major expansion of Paintman Paints with the construction of our new premises in Sloswicke Drive, Trinity Park Industrial Estate, Retford, finally moving in during October.2017: Awarded the Highly Commended award in the Micro Business of the year category of the North Notts Business Connections (NNBC) Awards.2018: Continued building the business taking on 2 Graduate Apprentices.2019: Participated in the D2N2 Business Upscaler programme dedicated to companies who consistently expand by a 20% per annum. This was presented admirably by Nottingham Trent University (NTU).Awarded the Micro Business of the Year Award in the NNBC Awards.2020: An interesting year. As an ECommerce Company we remained open fully staffed throughout the pandemic being extremely busy throughout.Awarded Finalist in Employee of the Year and Family Business in the North Notts Business Connections Awards.
