Responsible for enforcing Arkansas State Boiler & Pressure Vessel Laws & Rules. Inspect all non-insured Boilers & Pressure Vessels in southern / mid Arkansas which include but not limited to horizontal / verticle firetube boilers, watertube boilers, package boilers, Ammonia Tanks, Air Tanks, Liquid Service Tanks, Cast Iron Boilers, and Hot Water Heaters. These inspections include in-service inspections of Boilers & Pressure Vessels, (Operating boiler safety controls, ensuring proper water level of boiler, verifying proper burner adjustments visually, and checking for leaks.) Internal inspections of Boilers, and additional requirements based on condition of Boiler Appurtenances. Administer the Arkansas State Boiler Operator test both at the Little Rock Office and at remote sites for convenience. Ensure that Boilers & Pressure Vessels are installed per Rules & Regulations. Conduct special inspections at Federal Locations such as NCTR, Pine Bluff Arsenal, and USDA locations. Follow up on all violations within a timely manner to ensure compliance. Represent State Jurisdiction for Joint Reviews for Stamp Renewals.

Pine Bluff Arsenal

Primary responsibilities included repairing and operating multiple utility systems (2-400 HP Firetube Boilers, steam generators, chillers, DA tanks, condensate and air systems). Regulated the systems for optimum efficiency and troubleshoot, maintain, and repair them. Maintained logs, records, and other plant data such as steam production and distribution systems, heating, service / control air systems, and domestic water system. Advised and assisted maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and repairing systems / components within the plant.
