I am Professor of Modern French Studies at the University of Leeds, UK, where I have worked in Higher Education for over thirty years. I teach a variety of topics related to modern France and the Francophone world, including French language, literature, film, music and television. I also research into some of these areas. I have written books on French crime fiction, as well as on the French authors Michel Tournier and Philippe Djian, and I have published articles on a range of interests, including airport fiction, monsters, football and true crime.
