I specialise in Rheumatology, providing care to patients with auto-immune and inflammatory disorders, as well as fibromyalgia patients. I’m passionate about providing patients with the best possible treatment and am committed to finding more effective, accessible and affordable ways to manage patients’ pain. My experience in the medical field spans 27 years, including 15 years as a General Medicine Specialist, working in hospitals as a senior house officer in general medicine, intensive care, cardiology, gastroenterology, and neurology. I maintain extensive links with medical colleagues locally and nationally, and provide specialist advice to local hospital Physicians when called upon.I trained extensively in general medicine and rheumatology at institutions across New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Australia (as the 2003 Rose Hellaby Scholar). I am very active as a Principal Investigator in clinical trials investigating new rheumatology drugs, and have taken part in 15 large, international, multicentre clinical trials to date.I am a current member of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, the New Zealand Rheumatology Association, the American College of Rheumatology, and the American College of Physicians.
