David studied Law at Sydney University, was admitted as a lawyer in 1982 and has practiced in Sydney and Wollongong. David joined Kells in 1990. He was admitted as a partner in 1994 and became an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury in the same year. In 2010 he was also admitted as an Accredited Specialist in Employment Law and Industrial Law. David is an expert in the industrial relations system and has delivered over 45 seminars to employers and their advisers. He has regularly written articles for the Illawarra Advertiser, The Kells Report and The Employment Law Newsletter. David was one of the first Accredited Specialists in personal injury in NSW and has over 25 years experience in this area of the law. Becoming an accredited specialist is a rigorous process . David completed a Masters in Law at Sydney University in 2008 majoring in Labour Law and Health Law. As part of the course, he won the Iain Ross Prize for the moot on protected industrial action. He also received High Distinctions in Workplace Safety and in Labour Law. David is a former President of the Wollongong and District Law Society .David is a current member of the 2 Committees of the NSW Law Society , the Employment law Committee and the Injury Compensation committee In Late 2013 David was appointed a director in The Illawarra ITeC Ltd . The company was established in 1988 as a not for profit organisation to meet training and employment needs in the local community .In 2017 David was appointed the Chairman of the Kells Partnership.
