I am currently the centre manager of Roefield Leisure Centre in Clitheroe. Roefield Leisure Centre is a charity based leisure centre operating within the Ribble Valley. The centre is run by a charity called Ribble Valley Sport and Recreation of which I am also the charity manager. As the manager, I have to deliver a number of community and charity incentives whilst keeping the charity finances in order so that we can re-invest in further provision, as well as delivering affordable fitness to all aspects of the community. The centre is equipped with a 45-station fitness suite, Spin Studio, Dance studio, 4 court badminton sports hall and climbing wall. I lead all the arrangements for the different activities and services provided within the centre. I am the manager for over 40 staff and deal with a number of issues relating to rotas, wages, HR polices and procedures and all disciplinary and recruitment processes within the centre. I report to the board of Trustees about the centre including future developments, accounts, staffing and facilities. I deliver strategic plans that not only achieve financial targets but also deliver the mission statement of the organisation. I manage a budget of £500,000 for the centre. During my time as manager at Roefield, I have increased the income of the centre by over £60k by delivering different activities and functions including archery, zorbs, bowling and aerobics. I have increased the centres current membership base by improving the customer experience received at Roefield and offering ‘value for money’, which I strongly believe is the ultimate way forward. I have achieved this by listening to the consumer and offering programmes including ‘refer a friend’, ‘bring a buddy week’, fitness professional training with customers, nutritional advice sessions and the development and running of boot camp clubs. I have also decreased expenditure by over 100k within an number of and responsibilities.

• I worked for Craven Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre from August 2007- November 2012 The centre has a 25 metre swimming pool, a 60 station fitness suite, a 10 acre park which hosts a skate park and 14 hole pitch and putt. The centre is run by Craven District council and is based in Skipton my role within the centre was Operations Manager. At the centre I was manager and had responsibility for the following areas.- Health and Safety - Catering – I was responsible for all aspects of catering within the centre which include an 50 covers café. I within my first year turned the catering at Craven District council from making an 10k a year lose to a 25k a year profit. - Staffing levels and HR polices and procedures - Cleaning - Procurement of equipment - Fault reporting - Financial reporting - Restructure of the organisation
