Power Brewing Project is the outcome of a personal passion for brewing great beer combined with a desire to achieve something unique through self employment. Similar to engineering, and as many brewers already know, brewing beer is a detailed oriented task with endless knobs to dial in for customization. Taking everything I've learned in the engineering world plus the experience of homebrewing for the past 8 years, I'm diving into the exciting challenge of opening Power Brewing Project this summer in Hutto, TX.With Hutto's population growth of approximately 50% in just the last 5 years alone and with no end in sight to the growth and influx of businesses both large and small, Power Brewing Project aims to capitalize in a suburban market that has a bright future ahead of it. We hope to see you all this summer so we can share our passion and unique brews with you!

Electrical Principal Engineer

I worked in the Modular Data Center (MDC) Engineering team, which is part of the larger Cloud CSP & Emerging Technology group at Dell. This team designs, tests, and maintains custom modularized containers for mission critical enterprise IT solutions. Our main focus with MDCs was on the power delivery and distribution, power back up solutions, mechanical construction, controls and automation, and air handling aspects that support one or several racks of IT gear. While not directly involved with the IT/server design and implementation, I am familiar with its workings and was exposed to this area on a regular basis. Through all of this, the team's main goal is to ensure seamless operation for all of their customer's solutions in the data center world.More specifically, as an electrical engineer on the MDC team, I worked with other electrical engineers to design and maintain electrical schematics, control panel layouts, one-line diagrams, BOMs, and other electrical collateral. I was also the team's subject matter expert on VFDs for all of the modules' AHUs. Furthermore, I interfaced with customers, suppliers, and other vendors on a regular basis for design, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering. In addition to the electrical aspect, the cross-functional arrangement of the MDC Engineering team allowed me to gain experience with other aspects of MDCs such as of mechanical engineering, industrial controls, thermal analysis, and MDC project management for all designs.

Worked with the Production Design team in the Motors and Drives division. In this group I am a part of a group of electrical and mechanical engineers that design and engineer custom AC induction motors to meet an array of customers'​ applications and specific needs. These motors are low and medium voltage and range from ~1/2 HP to up to ~5000 HP.The technical portion of the design process includes analyzing motor performance data from our in-house design programs. To meet requirements set out by standards' organizations as well as the customer, I balance many different design parameters. Thermal characteristics, motor current and torque levels, NEMA and IEC efficiency requirements, hazardous duty requirements, and the incorporation of variable frequency drives with motors all play a major role in the design process.Another purpose of the Production Design team is to support the production floor in manufacturing. I assist the manufacturing workers with technical issues or complications that arise in manufacturing new motor designs and with quality control concerns. All of this is done in a timely manner to prevent manufacturing delays and late shipment of our products.Furthermore, managing engineering Bill of Materials (BOMs) and working cooperatively with other engineers, managers, and customer service representatives are other duties I engage in on a daily basis.
