supervisor role in the expansion of the mine from 300kt/pa to 750kt/pa. Currently looking at re-establishing the parodic maintenance regimes and ensuring the plant run time expectancy are returned to industry standard ensuring the costing for the maintenance department are set and applied to the operation. This is my third stint at the mine previously working in the Project Manager and Maintenance Superintendent roles.

Large-scale Coal processing plant 700tpa including coal processing, ROM and final stockpile control and train loading facilities.

<$1m projects assessment and scoping for Red Mountain, Lady Lorreta, Ernest Henry and Dronia (BHP), scheduled, planed and supervised major shut at Dornia for product coal discharge, redesign and refurbishment including managing of all project improvement through Sedgman’s Townsville work shop. Significant experience in shutdown and large maintenance. The majority of these works are all on remote sites including all logistics from initial concept of project to final commissioning on site.• Interaction between both the owner and contracting firms and working to ensure the work place is kept safe and complies with all relevant aspects of the OH&S ACTS

Day to day management of operations including coal plant operation stockpile management, train loading facility management. Work involved people management, mobile fleet and fixed plant management, liaising with the owner/client ensuring daily, weekly, monthly targets for supply and movement of coal supplied to client required quality. Management and implementation of workplace safety improvements as well as carry out and manage incident investigations. The introduction of Site safety standards and SOPs to comply with relative legislation and ensure a safe work place.

Plan and carry out remedial project task on site including design, plan, procure, install and commission of 3 final projects to form final sign off of Whitehaven coal CHPP. Utilising both our business services and contractors to get projects completed including coordination and working in with an operating plant ensuring projects were done safely, on time and under budget.

Operate and run my own business providing services to the mining industry in protective coatings, industrial cleaning and Polywelding and construction, working for most of the major mining company’s Australian wide including:▪ BHP, Rio, Newcrest, Glencore, Goldcorp, CBH.▪ During this time I have also worked as a consultant to CBH as a project superintendent for a number of different periods running individual projects to the value of <$2m including lead shed refurbishment, lead and zinc flat bed filter rebuild and underground and shaft refurbishment projects. I have extensive experience in corrosion prevention and controls and am a qualified coating inspector registered with the Australasian Corrosion Association. Business turnover between approximately $200k per month. Spent 12 months as a project manager in 2011 in the Tanami desert installing a past plant for Revell Resources.

Took on a private contract to operate a local swimming pool. Duties included the complete operation, staffing, coordination of community events, rewriting and implementing safe work procedures for the facilitiy as well as communicating and working closely with local council on a day to day operation of the facility and proposed million dollar upgrade of the facility.

Responsible for all surface maintenance and projects, work involved budget preparation, planning, scheduling minor/major maintenance and projects for both site maintenance and contracting teams ensuring above 92% run time for the plant. Required to fill in for short and long term periods as a plant manager.Retained by the restructuring team of the Rio to Wheaton transition, Formed part of the restructuring team involved with the complete overhaul of the maintenance, stores and services departments including managing these departments until full time managers could be sourced for the respective positions.

Junior Project Engineer: Start with Rio on the original mine build team – Responsible to coordinate and supervise design and project work to build both surface and underground facilities.Technical Specialist – Maintenance: Responsible for all surface and underground maintenance and projects, moving more into the day to day operational side of the mine work involved budget preparation, planning scheduling minor/major maintenance and projects involving both site maintenance and contracting teams ensure above 97% run time for the plant. Also required for short to long term periods to fill in for operational management positions.

Started an apprenticeship with ADI as a carpenter, studied at Sydney TAFE after 4 years was seconded to the design drawing office to assist with a 3 month frigate upgrade. Was requested to stay on and take on a drafting cadetship with ADI. Worked with ADI for a further 4 years on minor design and project improvements. Various naval fleet involving conceptual design, detailed design, client liaison with contractors to final supervision of projects.
