Managing a team of energy content specialists to deliver news monitoring and analysis to a wide range of professional clients.Our work takes a strong technological focus to help clients understand the risks and opportunities across global energy markets and specific sectors. These include, but are not limited to, the bioeconomy, low carbon power and grid management, battery storage value chains, electric and autonomous mobility, carbon capture and sequestration, and green commodities.As well as populating our proprietary content platform, this content is delivered predominantly via a series of briefings complete with additional commentary and analysis to explain the relevant technological details and wider context, suited to our clients' needs.

- Regularly running the UK news desk, writing live news and features across the UK and some European markets for domestic and international web and print magazine audiences. - Contributing to and managing day to day output, including delivery of seven newsletters per week.- Planning and execution of medium and long-term content including campaigns, supplements, roundtables, and ‘long read’ articles.- Commissioning and managing third-party material from industry contributions including sourcing and developing new contributors while building relationships with ongoing contacts/sources. - Hitting deadlines and word counts across all publications and helping others in the team to do the same.- Using Google Analytics and other metrics to maximise our audience via tools including push notifications, snap newsletters and intelligent editing of the homepage.- Approving comments for publication and handling complaints. - Ensuring published material adheres to UK media law including copyright, defamation and libel.- Representing the business at industry events including public speaking when required.- Working heavily with the conference production team to develop insightful and engaging content for the company’s portfolio of events delivered throughout the year.

Due to my interest and knowledge of film gained through my degree, I actively sought out this role, which includes contributing DVD and cinematic reviews of films, as well as reviews of old film favourites, features and film news articles.

The responsibilities of this role grew considerably since I first took up the position to cover the content creation of all news coverage associated with RCI magazine, including working to weekly deadlines for an online newsletter, and researching, writing and polishing industry, company and product news for the construction industry. I also worked to monthly and quarterly deadlines for RCI and Your Build print magazines.I was able to build an output of hard news featuring political coverage as well as interviews and opinion from leading figures in the industry, building a number of contacts throughout various sectors of the industry. I developed a very effective research style to identify and pitch stories specific to various sectors before sourcing and preparing them for publication.The position also involved attending several events to gain industry insight, as well as provide a face for the magazines and publishing house. This position relied heavily on an industry-facing presence, which I provide at briefings, awards ceremonies, conferences and any other events in the magazines' calendar.Having spent two years working within a small editorial team, I am also exceptionally self-motivated and organised.

My work consisted of writing online content to suit the Network’s unique brand; overseeing the work of other writing staff; proof reading and sub-editing articles prior to publication; and generally helping to keep the office working efficiently. This included office and telephone work, working with the sales team and drafting advertorials, monitoring the company’s Twitter feed, and pursuing potential content for the writing team.
