I attended a Job Interview At BritishSugar Newark whilst I was still at school, I was 15 years old. After 2 interviews and an assessment day, I was offered a 4 year Apprenticeship as an electrical technician to begin as soon as i finished school but only if i achieved 5 GCSE Grades C and above including Maths, English and Science. I Achieved the above and more and so started my apprenticeship in September 2004, I finished my apprenticeship in September 2008 with a NVQ Level 3 in Performing Engineering Operations, a HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Certificate In Engineering and so began my employment with British Sugar as a fully qualified and authorised technician. however during my first year out of my time the company allowed me to continue attending college on a one day a week day release course and by the end of this fifth year at college i had upgraded my HNC to a HND. I then took responsibility for bugeting planning and delivering the maintenence for our Power Generation plant which included two gas fired boilers, a steam driven Turbine and 10MVA Alternator set which i could competently operate manualy taking it in and out of Parallel with the national grid. Now 13 years later Ive worked at British Sugar for 18 years Im 34 years old and looking to pursue a career at a power station or Similar inustry to further my expertise in this feild however all interesting opertunity will be considered
