As an independent consultant with Geotechnical Experts Limited, I now provide design, advice and expert services in ground engineering to clients on a wide range of projects worldwide.My primary motivation is listening to clients and adding value to projects by providing an early involvement to reduce ground related risks and improve buildability and economy. I trained as a civil engineer and gained a masters in soil mechanics both at Imperial College London and I am a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Through over 30 years of experience working with major consultancies like Arup and Atkins and specialist contractors Bauer and Bachy Soletanche I have been fortunate to work on some of the most challenging geotechnical projects in design and execution in the UK, Middle East and Hong Kong.I am expert in the design and construction of deep bored piled foundations, secant pile and diaphragm walls and have been involved in the design and construction of some of the deepest examples in the world. I have also acted as an Expert Witness. Some project highlights include the East London Line, London Gateway Port and Lee Tunnel.
