Programmed Nortel Meridian phone switch (PBX) for a 24-hour technical support center near Austin that served as the central site for a global call center with other locations based in the United Kingdom and Australia. Responsible for ongoing maintenance and upgrades to the call center PBX. Duties included preparation of statistical and related reports on call center volumes to include operational peaks and other data; call center reports on inbound/outbound customer calls measuring categories such as number of calls, wait times, talk times, etc.; and review of long distance and local phone accounts from telecom vendors to verify billing accuracy.

Worked my way up to Operations Supervisor in a 24-hour call center that opened technical support tickets for global customers and closed out engineering service tickets from hardware/software staff. Promoted to second shift supervisor over a team of six employees in the call center. As the supervisor, I was responsible for interviewing new hires, scheduling shifts, and managing agent productivity which included assessment of call data using phone reports and monitoring actual phone call interactions. Duties included training new hires in procedures and preparation of scripts for use with customer support. Prior to a merger with Houston-based Compaq Computers, I took courses to become certified as a telecom administrator on AT&T and Nortel phone switches.
