Liaising internally (IT Operations, IT Projects, IT POS Support, IT Management Committee) and externally (Service Providers), it was my role to ensure that the business received the appropriate levels of service as per the contracted SLA’s. This was done by means of continually identifying, monitoring and reviewing the IT Services.Key to this was implementing an engagement model with the business (which was not in place before) and revisiting the Service Review process.

This role was based on the ABSA account and entailed managing the on-site and remote support teams while the account transitioned to a new Service Provider.I identified an issue whereby the client was not happy with support feedback, therefore I introduced two internal incident feedback sessions a day which was used to report back into a daily operations update which I lead with the client.

As the Assistant Manager in a busy family restaurant, I had the responsibility to assist in managing the front of house, stock control, opening and closing, deliveries and customer satisfaction.

I was responsible for managing IT Service Delivery and daily IT Operations across two strategic ABI (soft drinks) regions made up of 15 sites which included the National Call Centre and Manufacturing facility (incorporating Sales, Distribution and Warehousing functions).A major accomplishment for our regional IT team was investing in IT infrastructure to eradicate legacy hardware and provide a stable operational platform. This included rebuilding and re-cabling two server rooms, removing and reinstalling old cabling, investing in backup power management and upgrading facility hardware monitoring.

This role was newly created within ABI (soft drinks). I had the privilege to move across from the Beer business unit to the Soft Drinks business unit to use my previous experience in assisting to build and stabilise a regional IT service. The focus of the team was to assist in a national SAP Sales and Distribution implementation, Incident Management, IT Facilities Management, Asset Management, Business Engagement and Project Deployment.

The role required general IT knowledge but also a level of specialisation in business critical applications and hardware solutions. I was involved in numerous regional rollouts, the most notable being part of the pilot for SAP Sales and Distribution in SABMiller.

I provided specialist support to business specific back office applications for the Marketing, Sales, and Distribution and Finance business units. Part of my role was also to provide support on hardware.

My duty in this role was to be the helpdesk (team of 1), provide 1st line support for back office applications, hardware and software. Build, upgrade and deploy laptops and desktops. Troubleshoot basic networking issues (patching, faulty cabling, fly leads).
