With a rich and extensive career spanning over 30 years in the field of education, during which I dedicated 23 years as a principal at various educational levels, I now hold the esteemed position of Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction for grades 9-12 at Wayne-Westland Community Schools (WWCS). In this capacity, I am entrusted with the crucial responsibility of guiding the development and execution of curricula, assessments, and instructional strategies tailored to the unique needs of over 3,400 high school students within our district. My academic background includes a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Michigan State University, a qualification that empowers me to harness cutting-edge educational technology to enhance student learning and engagement while also facilitating the professional growth of our educators.My professional journey has been marked by an unwavering passion for cultivating inclusive and equitable learning environments that nurture academic excellence, promote social-emotional well-being, and foster a lifelong commitment to learning among all students. Furthermore, my commitment extends to fostering collaborative relationships with our dedicated teaching staff, support personnel, engaged parents, and invaluable community partners, all united in the pursuit of our schools' success and continuous improvement.I am thrilled to be a part of the WWCS team and am eager to contribute to their overarching mission, which is to empower students in realizing and achieving their unique goals and aspirations.
