My previous experience and the GS10K ideas have helped create a team that drives the Centre and Nursery forward for the benefit of Higher Folds residents. To refresh and build on these skills I completed the June 2020 Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Re-imagining Business short course. Invaluable for guidance, virtual networking new opportunities.Through the work of the team being recognised, with the support of the Management Board, we've been fortunate enough to draw down funding for the Community Centre £120,000 from Wigan Council Community Investment Fund, BIG Lottery Reaching Communities Grant of £300,000 in April 2016 after a very rigorous application, £10,000 from Coalfields Regeneration Trust and £80,000 start up funding in 2014 for our very successful, and now profitable, 2 year olds and pre-school Nursery.Recently we've secured £70,000 Power to Change funding to grow our Food Poverty Project.And.....November 2019, just completed an Alliance Manchester Business School Not-for-Profit Group Project "Towards a Healthier and Active Community". A very thorough and useful piece of work, to help the Centre bid for Sport England and other grant funding to improve the health and well-being of local people in an area described as deprived.
