David Ramsden has nearly 20 years of experience as a Chief Executive of UK-wide charities.Since December 2016 he has led the Cystic Fibrosis Trust (CFT), which works to improve the lives of people with a life-long and life-limiting condition. CFT provides high quality information and support, advocates and campaigns for the best treatments and care and funds vital, world-leading research. From 2006 to 2016 David led one of UK’s highest profile charities, BBC Children in Need. Under his leadership it raised over £400 million, diversified its income base with new programming and commercial partnerships. The "Pudsey" brand was reinvigorated and the scale and scope of the Appeal Campaign grew - including a wide ranging digital presence.In parallel to this, David ensured that BBC Children in Need focused its grant making efforts - enabling many smaller projects to receive funding and that the money raised by the public is being used effectively to change young lives across the UK. He also emphasized the Charity's role as a learning organisation that identified and promoted best practice in how to make a difference to young lives.David was born in Lincolnshire, grew in Nottinghamshire and now lives in London with his wife, and two children.
