Reporting into the CIO for the Institutional and Business Bank, the role had responsibility for the technology supporting the commercial lending and payments technology across the bank. The role required building the delivery teams to support this function, working closely with the business to execute on the payments strategy developed in my previous role and ensuring appropriate investment in technology to remediate any operational and technology risks in line with the risk appetite of the Bank and Enterprise Services. Key achievements in the role include: • Leading the team that successfully launched "Albert", a next generation POS device, developed with Wincor Nixdorf research labs in Europe• Completed integration of Bankwest payment systems following relinquishing of Bankwest’s ADI licence, resulting in annualised savings of $10m p.a. and simplification of the technology environment • Completed simplification of the bank’s payment systems, specifically the simplification of payments reporting and reconciliation systems and replacement of Bank’s payment gateways• Developed and gained approval for the banks investment in completing the new payments platform (NPP) program
General Manager, Business Banking & Payments
This role reported into the CIO for the Retail and Business Bank, with a mandate to manage the technology supporting the business bank and payments technology across the bank. The role required building the delivery teams to support this function, working closely with the business to develop the payments strategy and ensuring appropriate investment in technology to remediate any operational and technology risks in line with the risk appetite of the Bank and Enterprise Services. Reporting into the CIO for Group Services at CBA, the responsibilities for this role were to leverage the end-to-end delivery capability developed in my previous role as GM Project Delivery to execute a number of strategic projects supporting the Finance and Risk divisions of the bank. In addition, I was to consolidate the IT operations functions and leverage our offshore technology partners to provide a 24/7 IT support service for Finance and Risk technology.
