Tijuana, Mexico

►Managed two key Medical Device Business Units that involved annual sales of > $270M, > 300 SKUs, and > 900 indirect/direct labor employees. One Business Unit involved Medication Delivery products, the other involved Temperature Management products. ►Proven effectiveness in meeting key operational goals, reducing costs on a continuous basis, and in meeting all regulatory requirements.►Project Manager for transfer of Class 3 implantable device manufacturing from Minnesota to Tijuana, Mexico from 2013 thru 2016. This franchise involved annual sales of $16M and involved 125 SKUs. This transfer provided annual labor savings of $750K and sterilization cost savings of $75K.►Developed high performance multi-functional teams towards meeting/exceeding key metrics on a continuous basis. Key metrics involved VAVE project savings, Quality improvements for DPM and CPM, scrap reduction, and labor efficiency improvements.►Provided supplier development leadership for key suppliers involved in automation processing, injection and insert molding, extrusion, and sterile packaging.

Tijuana, Mexico

►Provided the Program Management leadership necessary to transfer > 20 production lines from 1999-2007 from multiple sites in the US and Europe to Tijuana, Mexico. These transfers of production lines provided significant direct labor savings to the bottom line of Smiths Medical.►Led the development of the site infrastructure from 30 employees in 1999 to > 1,800 in 2007. Reduced company direct labor costs by > $35M over that time frame.►Established "Best Practices" at the Tijuana site such as Equipment/Tooling Capacity Planning, OEE, and Scrap Reporting.►Improved DPM and CPM (Quality) results 5-10% each fiscal year. ►Led cross-functional S&OP Meetings for all of the key franchises that I functionally managed. Cross-functional team involved Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations, and Quality.►Provided the Project Management necessary to design and build Class 8 ISO cleanrooms at the Tijuana site,

Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area

►Established all manufacturing systems, procedures, and practices from scratch (company was a start-up initially).►Led the growth of Operations at this time period at the various MN sites from 10 to 350 employees over the duration of time. Operations included electo/mechanical assembly of hardware and fabrication of high volume disposables that were sterilized.►Led and participated on numerous product launch teams (over 20 separate launches).►Established and nurtured high performance intra-departmental teams that focused on continuous improvement in regards to quality, delivery, and cost savings.►Transferred two production lines from Massachusetts to Minnesota. One of the production lines included class 3 implantable devices., the other production line included a new product family that was soon to be launched to the US market.►Created the initial Service & Repair function/department for electro/mechanical ambulatory infusion pumps at this entity. Nurtured the development of all procedures and systems to allow for compliant growth of this function over many years.
