As a biological engineering student I studied Chemistry, Physics and Biology. I watched bacteria through a microscope and developed computer models of Biological Systems such as the metabolism of a cell or the spread of the Spanish Influenza. learning engineering principles let me calculate changes in the biological systems I had studied. My minor in Computer Science was was synergistic with Bioengineering as I was able to develop computer models to better understand the Natural World.My curiosity about Nature has influenced my professional pursuits. I have worked as a zip-line guide in the rain forests of Alaska and the Mountains of Utah. I have volunteered as a trip leader where I had the opportunity to take other students into the back country and let them experience it for them selves. I worked in the warehouse of an outdoors outfitter mostly for access to new gear.I have found fulfillment exploration and athletic pursuits in Natural World. I am an avid mountain biker, rock climber and backpacker. Adventures in nature allow me to relax return to work renewed.
