Project Manager for Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) at Dublin Airport. A-CDM is a European initiative by EUROCONTROL to improve the overall efficiency of operations at an airport, with a particular focus on the aircraft turn-round and pre-departure sequencing process. I have full responsibility for this project, reporting into a Steering Group & Director of Strategic Projects for Dublin Airport. I am also involved in the Capital Approval Process. This forum is used for obtaining approvals to progress with capital investment across various departments within Dublin Airport. Its function is to financial approval projects in line with the Commission for Aviation Regulation (CAR) and in line with Dublin Airport's overall business plan and strategy. My involvement includes: 1). Review and comment on submitted papers, 2). Monitor, track and follow up on approvals, 3). Maintain and monitor approved budget list for the past and current financial year, 4). Give my opinion / point of view on the projects presented. 5). Liaise with various departments.I am also responsible for maintaining, monitoring and tracking the next five year capital investment plan. Involved in the preparation and reviewing of any appeals to CAR.

Airside Project Manager on simultaneous airside construction projects in Dublin & Cork Airport. Projects consist of storm & foul sewer drainage, landscaping, concrete pavements, bituminous overlays and inlays and security upgrade projects. All projects required working with various different disciplines, for instance: electrical, mechanical, IT, operations, H&S, environmental, security, asset care and in some cases architectural. Delivery of projects within budget, programme and quality was key to the success of this role. This role also involved working closely with specialist consultants and contractor. Airside is a very restricted environment and not completing projects within the planned timeframes can have serious operational implications to an international airport. My main duties on this role included; preparing tender documentation, risk management, agreeing phasing with stakeholders, monthly reporting, presentations, cost management, quality audits, change control, H&S, environmental documentation, etc. Consultation with the various stakeholders was a timely and critical process to the successfully delivery of projects, in order to satisfy all clients expectations and requirements.

As a Civil Design Engineer, my main role and responsibilities were managing the design team and the design process to ensure that the development design responds appropriately to user requirements. My responsibilities also included preparing contract tender documentation using an amended form of the IEI conditions of contract, preparing the BOQ in accordance with CESMM3, risk management, change control, monthly reporting, cost management, quality audits, gateway documentation, H&S documentation, environmental documentation, phasing of projects and dealing with interim and final accounts.

Cork, Ireland

Between October and December 2012, I was a Site Resident Engineer for eight weeks on two concurrent projects in Cork Airport; - Pavement upgrades to Taxiway Charlie - RC concrete bund for two 15,000 litre potassium acetate and two 30,000 litre glycol storage tanks. I had full responsibility on-site for these two projects.

Civil Design Engineer on various airside construction projects in Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airport. I was responsible for: designing large gravity storm sewers, gravity and pumped foul sewers, attenuation tanks, foul pumping stations, landscaping, concrete pavements design, bituminous overlays and inlays. Each project had to be designed to withstand large point loads and jet blast from aircraft and in accordance with the clients brief, best practice, design manuals & aviation standards. While I was working as a design Engineer, I was also given the opportunity to carry out the role of a site Resident Engineer for projects mentioned above at Dublin and Cork Airport. I had full responsibility for projects on-site. My duties on these projects included site set-up, supervision, surveying, site documentation, quality control, dealing with day to day site issues, existing services, chairing and organising site meeting, interim valuations, agreeing and paying final accounts, etc.

In September 2008, I commenced the daa graduate programme. This programme, gave me the opportunity to understand the various different business units within Dublin Airport. From the outset of this programme, I was involved in civil design and project management of concrete pavement and bituminous overlay projects. On completion of the graduate programme, I progress to an airside civil design engineer.
