This included improved arrangements for Suitable Qualified and Experienced Personnel and Duly Authorised Persons, part of which included development of the standard training course on Nuclear Safety which has been delivered to more than 6,000 operations staff.As a Senior Manager on this site I also led the site’s response to a number of major issues, including an Improvement Notice on one of its’ main production plants.

As a Project Manager within AGR Fuel Handling Section I lead key areas of the project in support of On-Load refuelling at AGR stations. The work was concerned with the assessment of dropped fuel consequences during reactor refuelling operations. This required the development and validation of complex thermohydraulic models and the application of these models to support the claims made by the Safety Case Head Document.I am the author of a number of key documents on this subject including the relevant sections of the Reactor Refueling Safety Cases.

Undertook a range of R&D projects in the area of reactor Thermohydraulics, including operational support to the Dounreay Fast Reactor and other commercial plant.
