As Director of the Public Health Analytics Program, my job is to acquire new business and to conceptualize, coordinate, and provide technical support on all analytic, simulation, or economic analyses conducted within NORC’s Public Health Department. The program was newly established in January of 2015 to consolidate existing research activities, and to intensify and expand NORC’s capacity to conduct high quality quantitative analytics (defined as data sciences, simulation/mathematical modeling, health economics, and epidemiological forecasting) in the area of Public Health. My operational responsibilities include the design, oversight, and supervision of contracted research such as burden of disease studies, outcomes research (inclusive of benefit-cost, cost-utility, cost-effectiveness, and programmatic cost measurement studies), econometric analyses of secondary data sources and experimental and quasi-experimental research designs to support program evaluation efforts. My business development responsibilities include exploring and expanding research opportunities in the Atlanta Area. In addition I serve as the Director of two CDC IDIQ mechanisms, and am responsible for coordinating bid decisions, and when appropriate, direct leadership and writing of new proposal efforts.
