Served as one of eleven executive leaders of over 240 employees servicing 31,000+ students and 2,300+ faculty. Functional units for SOM and TS included: server operations, networking, security, telecommunications, desktop support, card services, project management, web-services, application services, disaster recovery, classroom support, media support and administrative systems. Technology Services annual operating budget of over $40 million. School of Medicine technology services budget and operations over $6 million. Tasked as a representative of the CIO, fifteen IT executive directors and directors; collectively responsible in the management, design, growth and retirement of services, technologies and infrastructure for the university, health sciences campus and hospital. Personally broke down departmental silos and focused on team strategies and collaborative planning.

Creation and management for the IT infrastructure of two simulation centers totaling $2 million. Sole IT specialist responsible for laying out the foundations for the development, implementation and maintenance of two multi-terabyte server solutions interfacing with six colleges in the southwest region of Virginia. Fully accountable for all IT, strategic planning, integrations, risk assessments and expenditures of IT funds.

IT systems administrator for the district of Christiansburg working with VITA clients to migrate legacy systems for VDH, VDOT, DMV, VOF, VEC and DSS to centrally managed systems controlled by VITA. Systems Administrator for Active Directory, DNS (Domain Name System), Static and DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) for PCs, Printers, Switches and Router configurations. ISO (International Organization for Standardization) pen testing and reconfiguration of system hardware.

Sole IT specialist and on-site support for two districts covering Virginia Department of Health in 14 counties. On-site oracle database administrator, DHCP, active directory and DNS administrator. Instilled stronger data security policies by migrating systems, removing global and local administrator rights from end-users and introducing mapped network drives to collaborate. Migrated an on-site Oracle database to centrally supported website and database solution. Modified Oracle scripts to fix Y2K bugs prior to migration to web application.
