I provide a lead role for psychological support in the Family Intervention Team. I work with family support practitioners, as well as children, young people (aged 3-16) and their families. I lead initial family assessments and am experienced in creating psychological formulations around the needs of families. I collaborate with team members to form a plan of support. I offer case consultation to team members whilst also directly supporting families in a variety of different forms, from doing mid- and end-point reflections to holding a caseload of direct Therapeutic work with families. This involves attending and supporting people at meetings that they have with external services including schools and/or any statutory services. I utilise my experience in many different therapeutic models that I am trained in to meet the needs of the families and team members. Using my knowledge in systemic studies, I strive to help support, strengthen, and open possibilities for whole system change within the organisation and the service users.

The purpose of this role is to manage the Family Intervention Team. This is a whole family therapeutic service who work with children, young people and their families aged 3-16. I have a dual role of being responsible for the day to day running of a service which combines a systemic family therapy and psychologically informed ideas and to be the face of the service to service users. I am responsible for assessing appropriateness of our service for families and to ascertain the hopes, wishes and ideas a family has over what change might look like. I then through a process of collaborating with my staff construct a systemic formulation that contributes to the support that the family receives. I am responsible for the therapeutic support that is offered out by my team. We utilise a systemic family therapy model of a reflective team with families with strong influences of narrative therapy. I uphold the integrity and the culture of the service. I try to grow and promote the idea of isomorphism in my team where through systemic practice we are with each other as we would be with the families we support. I am the lead in terms of safeguarding and managing risk and I am responsible for growing the reputation of the service.

The overall goal of my current position is to help support families in achieving some form of change whether it is a small step towards a life they want to live or a giant leap. The goal is to help interrupt negative cycles and introduce new possibilities and new choices in order to move towards 2nd order sustainable change.

I was one of the front-line workers responsible for Supervising 16+ carers and the young people who were placed with them. I would offer therapeutic support to both the young person and the carers in order to sustain the placement and prevent a breakdown. Another key responsibility was assessing potential carers for their service. I would lease with my line manager to discuss the suitability of each carer with the information I gathered and my personal judgment on the carer and the environment being a key consideration for suitability.

This was a charity that helped to set up with a manager from a previous job, We offered therapeutic support for children, young people and their families. The contracts we won were directly with learning communities and social services. I was responsible for presenting the service to learning communities to win contracts as well as working directly with families and stakeholders.

Within this service I was responsible for organising and running community events for deprived areas on a regular bases and summer programs for rural hard to reach areas. The other part of my job was offering one to one therapeutic support to children, young people and their families. I would often be a lead professional in multiagency TAF meetings. I would has safeguarding responsibilities and would attend meetings with families.
