The TMC Emergency Department has 45 beds separated into pods and patients are assigned in pods based on acuity. We follow the Canadian Triage Scale. We take care of a variety of patients such as sore throats, abdominal pains, headaches, DKA, difficulty breathing, chest pain, brain bleeds, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest and much more. We are the second busiest Emergency Department in Arizona with a volume of 90,000 patients a year. There is a separate psychiatric annex located within the Emergency Department and the Pediatric Emergency Department is located separately from the Main Emergency Department.The Patient Care Technician is responsible for direct patient care services on a specific unit under the supervision of an RN or Case Manager. Provides personal care and assists with the implementation of selected portions of a care plan including respiratory services, rehabilitation services, and phlebotomy under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
