Responsible for electrical design, PCB layout, and mechanical engineering, including prototyping, compliance testing, and manufacturing across Germany and China.Established and managed the Engineering department, covering Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Embedded, Frontend, and Backend Engineering, and oversaw an international supply chain (EU and Asia). Directed the concept's evolution through certification, mass production, and successful market launch in large batches. The product has been a significant success and continues to expand into new territories.

Developing and manufacturing a diverse range of technical products for portfolio ventures. In close collaboration with the CTO, ventures, and customers, this involved overseeing the comprehensive development of a Solar System infrastructure, covering PV panels, inverters, and a custom gateway operating on embedded Linux. I successfully facilitated seamless interfacing with subsystems through both wired and wireless interfaces.Projects, medical devices for elderly people. Electrical design, PCB layout, embedded SW. The device analysed a video feed from an FLIR camera, processing the signal, providing a filtered feed via the ethernet port to a central hub, alerting staff of alarm conditions outside of specified boundaries.Designed manufactured to medical standards IEC 60601-1-8.

Led the development of the Metr range of products focusing on commercial building management, encompassing heat, water, and gas meters. Personally conducted the design of the central gateway, the core of the system, from prototype and testing to comprehensive hardware and software development, including the design and production of casings and PCBs. Implemented communication over various protocols, including both wired and wireless interfaces, ensuring the timely availability of critical data through an optimized back-end service and user-facing software applications.

Singing Cat is a Berlin based company that produces IOT products, 'IOT as a service'. All open source. This PCB is packed with features/benefits over other IOT devices because it can autonomously connect via a mesh (wifi and/or NB), comes with a host of connectivity options. There is full power monitoring, I, V, PF etc. The mains AC connection is quite nice through a built-in EMI circuit, making it ideal for consumer products and white-goods (direct safe mains connection). My design is over 6 layers with impedance control and antenna design.

Established a vertically integrated enterprise operating under a B2B model, delivering a comprehensive suite of bespoke and standard hardware solutions to the industry.Led the design and manufacturing efforts of logistics hardware and asset tracking software, orchestrating the efficient management of goods flow within automated warehouses. The all-encompassing solution addressed goods-in-out, tracking, finance, account management, and e-commerce, providing tailored control over business processes. This approach allowed for swift software adjustments to align with specific operational requirements, steering clear of limitations associated with off-the-shelf solutions. The software boasted self-learning modules automating standard warehouse procedures, from automatic supplier ordering to barcoding and picking. Internally, orders were seamlessly picked and tracked utilizing BLE beacons, closely monitored by custom RFID devices and barcode readers. Dynamic adjustments to pick-locations and stock levels were made based on product popularity and usage.In parallel, I played a pivotal role in the design and manufacturing of all key products, ensuring alignment with customer needs. Recognizing the popularity of certain product lines, I strategically expanded production by forging collaborations with esteemed international partners.

Iceland

Design a locker control system which manages the opening and closing of the doors. Monitoring the microswitches and powering the solenoids depending on external signals from the main computer. The system had to specifically manage scenarios when the door is jammed closed or left open.

As a part of Hardware.co, the Berlin based hardware community for startups, engineers and amateurs, I designed and constructed a professional electronics lab at Betahaus Berlin. Once built I managed the laboratory on a daily basis offering consultancy and advice to engineers and designers.
