The Manager of Engineering Management responsible for leading the Engineering Management of Airgas’ AMG capital investment projects supervising a team of Project Engineers. In this role I am responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing projects, as well as supervising internal and external engineering teams.

Responsible for managing investment projects ($1 to $30 Million) to in accordance with the governance and work process defined in the Capital Implementation Management System (CIMS).During the development phase, work with the Business Developer to define and propose a competitive solution in terms of total cost of ownership and time to market with a project execution strategy including but not limited to Scope, Budget, Schedule, Assumptions and Risks.During the execution (after approval of the project) responsible for the successful investment delivery on time, on budget and according to the specifications of the project until the hand over to Operations.

Responsible for the development and execution of standard onsite nitrogen generating plants for the Airgas Merchant Gases division of Airgas LLC. Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of several onsite nitrogen generation projects, ranging from 5 - 7 projects at a time. Validate project budgets, coordinate design packages, submit bid packages, complete procurement and manage the project through the construction and commissioning phase of the installation.Additionally, provide technical support and consultation to the local plant operations teams with regard to plant equipment maintenance, efficacy & sourcing of materials and services.

Prospect and develop strategies with Airgas regional markets regarding on-site gas generation systems. Focused on building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers to provide the most economical and total gas supply solution.

In my position, I am responsible for providing expert-level technical support in the use of industrial gases, primarily in general chemical and water treatment applications. I am in charge of handling engineering tasks related to the design and integration of custom engineered equipment into our customer's overall process. Present ideas to customers and their management team that show process improvements by providing opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and/or safety advantages of using certain applications over the competition.I am also involved with providing expert training sessions for clients, and other workers with in my company. Develop and grow key business relations with outside vendors to support and complement our internal engineering designs.Create marketing literature, training material, webinars & marketing campaigns for key product offerings.

Oversee the design and fabrication of application equipment for the metals, chemicals, food and manufacturing industrial sectors.Insure accuracy of design calculations, drawings, specifications and bills of materials of applications equipment solutions.Resolves design issues with applications engineering and contractors.Qualify and evaluate qualifications of consultants, vendors, and contractors.Interact with customers and end users to assure understanding of equipment capabilities, safe use and installation.Assist as needed in the start-up of process systems and plants.Coordinate (and conduct as needed) equipment functional testing to ensure system operations and functionality.Provide assistance for field start of application equipment.Report project performance in terms of costs and delivery.Provide application equipment project management leadership.Define scope of project and clarify individual roles of project team members.Select and direct outside vendors, contractors and consultantsPrepare and issue project specifications, evaluate bids andnegotiates final terms and conditions.Oversee the ordering of system components, tracking of orders, and expediting orders.Ensure assigned projects are completed on schedule and within budget.Monitor and drive overall project schedule and delivery.Develop overall project schedules, estimates and quotes based on input from applications engineering, contractors and vendors.
