I retired in March 2023 having joined Anderson Barrowcliff LLP in 1997 as an audit manager, having previously trained with KPMG in Newcastle. I was appointed a partner in April 2000 and was our audit compliance partner.My varied workload was centred around providing audit and accounting services to a wide variety of clients, including numerous charities and educational establishments. I was an advisory member of a charity client’s internal audit committee, a member of the audit committee at Teesside University and was a member of both the UK200 Charities and Education Group and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales Charity and Voluntary Sector Group. Family and sport take most of my spare time - I am a long suffering Grimsby Town fan and enjoy a game of golf to take my mind away from the perpetual turmoil at Blundell Park.
