Upon retirement from a successful career in the US Navy, a planned career break was taken to devote time towards accomplishing personal professional goals and preparing for a second career.Personal professional goals accomplished:-Prepared manuscript for Journal paper on coastal mud bed response to wave energy.-Prepared manuscript outline and chapter notes completed for a book on engineering design of underwater manned systems.-Worked on the engineering design, simulation and prototype fabrication of a novel leg-propelled diver propulsion system.-Provided engineering consultation to Navy Special Warfare Seal Delivery Team regarding the feasibility of engineering a tactical human-powered submarine system.-Invited to provide a technical review by Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division of an engineering approach to identify mine-like buried objects using sonar.

Responsible for the planning, design, construction and engineering contract support of US Military Installations in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Responsible for the engineering management of The Ocean Simulation Facility (OSF) which is capable of simulating ocean conditions to a maximum pressure equivalent of 2,250 feet (690 m) seawater (fsw) at any salinity level. The chamber complex consists of a 55,000-US-gallon (210,000 L) wet chamber and five interconnected dry living/working chambers totaling 3,300 cubic feet (93 m3) of space. Wet and dry chamber temperatures can be set from 28 to 104 °F (−2 to 40 °C).Provide engineering project management support for the execution of special warfare, EOD and saturation diving R&D projects.
