- I taught undergraduates on British history which included mentoring, advising and marking essays and exams. My innovative seminar themes was the subject of praise from assessors and students. The Head of History wrote “David is a very gifted teacher, who is sensitive to the learning of all students in a class. I am aware that David has an excellent reputation as a teacher on the Faculty of Arts Foundation Module, from conversations with several different staff. This does not surprise me, as the session I observed him teach was one of the best seminars delivered by a PhD student that I have observed. Although he is at the outset of his teaching career David fully deserves to be recognised for his remarkable skill and commitment as a teacher.”- I gave lectures and designed and delivered seminars for Foundation Year students, including a new lecture, combining the social and political impacts on British history, of race, class and gender. The Director of Foundation Arts, commented “Throughout the process, David has exhibited a thoroughly professional approach. It has been fascinating to see the session, its delivery and the evolvement over the last three years and it is clear that David is now an accomplished university teacher.”- I attended a week-long course at the British School at Rome and was invited back the following year, to teach and lecture on the course.- I have taught in a variety of schools, both as a classroom assistant but also preparing and delivering my own material. Also taster courses for sixth formers wanting to study history.- I worked with a local school to provide mentoring to A level students undertaking their Extended Project Qualification and included liaising between Lincoln and Nottingham Universities and the school. The Headmaster, Mr Dale Hardy, wrote “this project took significant time, project management skills and tenacity to organise, for which I will be eternally grateful for the extra mile Mr Robinson is always prepared to go.”

• Engaged to re-build corporate brand identity, lead the company’s PR and communications strategy and sales, marketing, customer services and after-sales activities with a remit to drive short, medium and long term revenue and margin objectives.• Participate as a member of the senior management team reporting to the Managing Director.• Responsible for the development and execution of the company’s strategic marketing plan.• Lead a team of 40 including Field Sales, Telesales, Export Sales, Marketing, Customer Services and a Technical Services Manager who managed a team of 15 Field Engineers.• Lead the development and continual improvement of all commercial systems and procedures including the operational infrastructure and sales processes. Introduced a returns policy which improved customer retention and strengthened confidence in the brand and its product.• Personally developed and managed relationships with a number of high profile organisations and opinion leaders such as; the BMA, NHS, Gus Hospital, in order to maximise brand values and corporate identity, leveraged for revenue and profitability. Secured official supplier/partner status to the 2012 Olympics.• The role involves identifying and leading market-led new product development opportunities, liaising closely with R&D in order to take products to market. Re-modelled some existing dental market models to break into new new markets such as podiatry and veterinary markets. • Lead major price negotiations and ensure budgeted sales prices are achieved or exceeded.• Responsible for a marketing communications budget of £143k p/a; rigorously monitoring marketing activity to ensure optimum return on investment.• Responsible for seeking acquisition targets in line with the company’s expansion plans.

• Between 2000 and 2006, established and successfully managed 3 businesses including: Hotel Management Services Ltd which was a £300k turnover contract cleaning business with 50+ cleaning staff; a franchise of Cash Generator based in Newark; and Freedom Light Therapies which was a beauty equipment rental business with a £45k turnover.• From July 2006, operated on a freelance basis providing sales training and consultancy services to a number of organisations including high tech SMEs.

• Promoted from Territory Manager to Regional Sales Manager of Southern England in 1995, then to European Sales & Marketing Manager in 1999 with a remit to embed UK sales methodology across France and Germany which were both struggling European businesses.• Additionally responsible for soliciting and collating European input into new product development and presenting to Senior Management in the US.• Liaised between the UK, France, Germany and US to ensure that each country was selling products within the parameters of a global marketing strategy. This involved extensive input into sales strategy, marketing, NPD, and responsibility for the UK sales and marketing plan.• Personally responsible for the European input into a new blood pressure monitoring product and its UK and European launch. Despite the product being 100% more expensive that competitor products, the product achieved significant sales in both the UK and Europe.• Successfully developed and promoted a number of Sales Executives into management roles most notably promoting from within to fill the Regional Sales Manager role.• Conducted regular sales meeting, larger scale sales conferences and macro level sales presentations to compliment traditional classroom based and on-the-job training.• Performed extensive sales analysis and reported figures to the UK Board on a monthly basis.
