The Francis Crick Institute

The Francis Crick is a highly complex 12 storey; 85,000m2; biomedical research facility and is the largest of its kind in Europe. Currently responsible for L04 & L05, but over the course of the job areas of accountability have included three different blocks which is over twelve floors. Additional responsibility from the start of the project has been the package management of the soft flooring which is valued at £1.2m. Duties entail managing and coordinating all trades including M&E and programming works; plus ensuring quality standards are in accordance with clients requirements, reviewing design and submitting drawings/ technical submittals/ method statements and preparing benchmarks, also worked with surveyors on instructions and monthly evaluations.During this time i have also completed the Laing O'Rourke Graduate Development Programme

The Shard

The Shard is a multi use building with over 80 floors. It is home to retail/ the Shangri- La hotel/ luxury apartments/ restaurants and a viewing gallery. It is also the tallest building in the UK. Areas of accountability were Levels 31/32 (restaurant areas) and Levels 68/69 (viewing gallery) and responsibilities included and managing both elements of construction and fit out to ensure various deadlines and targets were met including practical completion and other client specific deadlines. Particular complexities were the logistics of moving materials up the building with limited vertical access
