Provided IT Support for data backup and storage ensuring company data is accessible, secure, and recoverable.● Provided enterprise level backup and restores for a leader in the retail business, maintaining RTO and RPO for the business units using Veritas NetBackup.● Standardized all backups for operating systems, application data, database, NAS NDMP, and virtual machines on a vmdk level.● Ensured all backups duplicated to a second copy for offsite purposes either to tape (LTO) or cloud using Microsoft Azure as a target. ● Automated backup schedules and jobs using IBM Workload Scheduler, Autosys Workload Automation, and the NetBackup scheduler. ● Tested, documented, and executed Disaster Recovery Plan to ensure company data is retrievable in the event of a disaster, whether it be onsite data loss, corruption, or natural disaster. Utilized Sungard and a secondary data center built for DR recovery.● Collaborated with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with yearly updated guidelines for handling data for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards.● Handled all installations, maintenance, and upgrades of Veritas NetBackup software from version 3.2-8.1; including master, media, and client servers on Linux, Windows, HP-UX, VMs, and NetBackup Appliances.● Partnered with vendors to design and implement new hardware and software including a new greenfield backup environment in a new data center.● Provisioned storage luns to physical and virtual hosts / storage groups using Dell/Emc vMax, Powermax, and IBM XIV.● Created and presented NAS (Network-attached Storage) shares to hosts, business units, active directory groups, or individuals as NFS (Network File System) or SMB (Server Message Block) from a Dell/Emc Isilon through OneFS.● Maintained active directory security groups for SMB shares, ensuring proper access to data on the NAS.● Provided level 1 off hours support troubleshooting backup and storage issues.
