Managed the network maintenance, operations and system upgrades for the Raleigh/Durham Gfiber market. Monitored network performance and lead troubleshooting efforts for entire network systems (end-to-end long haul route, complete metro transport, core routing elements). Managed local technical operations staff and Vendor performance for both inside and outside plant. Lead new plant testing and acceptance to ensure network readiness and deliver best in-class service experience for Google Fiber customers.

Developed and lead a Central Office Field Efficiency process improvement program delivering $11M annualized savings. Acted as Program Lead to ensure currency for all projects within portfolio as well as providing program updates to various stakeholder management groups. Manage 3-5 individual Black Belt projects as well as 2-3 Green Belt projects, ensuring all project milestones are met and all documentation requirements are rigorously adhered to. Achieved Black Belt certification just prior to leaving for new career opportunity.

Managed all aspects of Network Field Operations for the Wireline Verizon Business (VzB) Upstate NY, CT & VT footprint. This included 380+ facilities as well as one Premium Data Center, including several international switch and transport network elements. Manage (3) Section Managers and (40+) VzB technicians. Concurrently managed all aspects of Network Field Operations for the Wireline Verizon Telecom (VzT), Upstate NY footprint. This included (77) Central Offices, including all Special Services & Corporate Telecom Service (CTS) work functions. Managed (4) Section Managers, (34) Central Office Technicians (COTs) and (33) Outside Field Technicians (FTs).

Managed (4) Softswitch installations and cutovers in the Upstate, NY region. Responsible for all aspects of hardware and software provisioning related to new Nortel CS2K Voice Over IP (VOIP) switch installations. Managed Voice Messaging Service (VMS) workgroups and was responsible for voice mail system conversions from Centigram to SS8 platform across entire region. Managed team responsible for the maintenance of all remote test access platforms as well as Automated Main Distributing Frames (AMDF) across the region. Managed Power Support team as well as Tier II field support for CO power platforms both AC & DC. Project managed the Corporate Special Retirement Project (CSRP) which involved decommissioning of spare and underutilized Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) switch infrastructure to lower operating expense and reclaim valuable floor space for new FiOS equipment installations. Developed and chaired an inter-departmental cross functional process improvement team with representation from all service delivery, operations teams as well as Engineering, Marketing & sales channels. Analyzed metrics, network plans and collaborated on development and implementation of best practices.

Managed all aspects of Network Central Office Field Operations for Upstate, NY region. Supervised (8)Team Leaders and (80+) COT's. Supported (92) CO equipment locations, (88) switches, approx. 600K access lines. Effectively managed said resources to meet established Corporate & Departmental objectives for service, financials, and employee development. Effectively project managed all service commitments related to aggressive IOF network build program, as well as an extensive FiOS OLT (Optical Line Terminal) network build year over year.

Coordinated the consolidation of (3) segregated dispatch centers into newly created work center in Upstate, NY. Developed associated business case and presented to appropriate Labor/Union forum. Managed all elements of consolidation, including the establishment and configuration of work space, acquisition of PC/LAN resources, as well as hiring, training and placement of all personnel. Addressed sensitive labor issues associated with the shut-down and transfer of work functions from decommissioned work centers. Worked closely with Network Operations Staff to develop and implement Standard Operating Environment (SOE) work flows within consolidated Center, which resulted in significant improvement in key departmental service metrics.

Reported directly to SBU Vice President, while responsible for the development and reconciliation of $220M SBU expense budget. Developed allocation methodology that allowed cascading of financial objectives and budgets down to lower levels of the organization. Interpreted corporate financial data in order to provide direct input to Business Planning process.. Developed various expense control initiatives in 1996 that resulted in $900K budget underrun.

Provided overall project management for deployment of the Network Monitoring & Analysis System (NMA) across the Upstate, NY region. Interfaced between Process Re-Engineering (PRE) core team and individual SBU resources. Developed and distributed monthly status reports to track project milestones. Interfaced with NMA System Administration group to ensure uniform system utilization and deployment throughout Upstate regions.

Managed the installation, maintenance and support of Special Service Circuits within the Northeast and Central SBU's. Coordinated the loading of work orders, trouble reports, and appointments for the Central Office and Installation/Repair (IR) forces. Supervised non-management force comprised of both Switching Equipment Technicians and Clerks. Coordinated daily work schedules, provided training and coaching to continually develop and motivate work group. Acted as direct interface for both Niagara Mohawk and N.Y. State Police regarding their Special Service Circuit provisioning and maintenance concerns. Interfaced with interexchange carriers and independent telephone companies, as well as coordinated work operations interdepartmentally to ensure that customer expectations were met.
