Support the DMPK function by setting up the CYP450 inhibition assays, the microsomal metabolic stability assay, and metabolite identification for the small molecule projects. Summarized the data from a rat mass balance and profiling study for the SiRNa compound that is currently in clinical trials for hepatitis B and D.

Started working at Rigel after I was let go, then picked up the work at Vir later in the year (June 2022)

Was in charge of the drug metabolism section of the DMPK group. Worked on fostamatinib from when I started at Rigel to when it was approved and even beyond as I was in charge of the European environmental studies for fostamatinib. Worked on the rip1Kinase inhibitor R552 that is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for Rheumatoid arthitis (Lilly).

We ran the standard drug metabolism assays, but also had in house a TV101L assay which was used to screen compound CYP1A induction. This was a big problem as many of the compounds were CYP1A substrates, so the autoinduction.

Was the first person at Abbott to use hepatic microsomes for drug metabolism studies. Would prepare my own microsomes from human, rat, monkey and mouse. Set up a glucuronidation assay that was used to find 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors with better PK. Prepare and purify metabolites for NMR analysis.
