Conducted an in depth engineering, architectural and security assessment of the enterprise backbone, WAN and MAN deployment. Developed and executed plan to bring the backbone into industry best practices and aligned all devices to NIST800-53, NCUA and NSA security criteria. Developed and implemented a comprehensive QOS design virtually eliminating tickets generated for Voice, Video and Applications performance issues.

90 day consulting contract to prepare our clients Cisco and Aruba based network infrastructure to support 800 Cisco 7925G wireless phones. Conducted an in depth network assessment of the existing infrastructure which included hardware, code and configuration reviews of all gear intended to carry Voice and Video traffic. Produced an engineering plan to bring the backbone into industry best practices and including hardware specific QOS scripts and a unified converged engineering strategy.

National Archives And Records Administration

Architect and Manager for the Electronics Records Archive data center supporting long term storage and public accessibility for Presidential, Congressional, Census and other federal agencies archival electronic records. The current capacity of the data center exceeds 2 Petabytes supporting multiple file, tape, operating system, virtualization and vendor’s storage systems and technologies.

Managed a team of 12 engineers and NOC operators supporting three datacenters, 600 servers and 3000 users spanning 16 sites. Created an in-depth engineering assessment of the existing deployment and developed and implemented an engineering plan to bring the backbone into industry and vendor's best practices. Provided engineering leadership to significantly improve service level delivery through training and mentorship. Enhanced statistical visibility and transparency into the operation deploying WANflow and Cisco Works and developed the reporting structure. Led a closely coordinated effort with the HP Openview team converting the infrastructure gear to SNMP version 3, and hardened the infrastructure deployment implementing NSA and NIST 800-53 guidelines.Co-Authored the engineering plan for MPLS and IPV6 for CSC’s Navy’s Next generation contract proposal. Migrated the Millennium Challenge Corporations primary datacenter into a FISMA compliant cloud solution at Terremark. Consulted for the DHS-USCIS-VIS disaster recovery datacenter build out.

Six Month contract providing engineering consultation and leadership deploying end to end QOS for VOIP and Video convergence for 15,000 users and two major datacenters spanning 30 sites. Implemented a managed fully path redundant 20 gigabit optical circuit between FDIC’s disaster recovery site and headquarters.

Laid the foundation for the technology division, establishing reseller and integration agreements with Loriot Pro, and Telepresence tech. Provided engineering, consultation and support services to CDW and SPS.

Prepared Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, and HP based networks in support of Avaya voice over IP implementations. Produced numerous written operational, architectural, traffic analysis and security assessments, and implemented more than 70 converged networks including SPS corporate headquarters. QOS architect of several enterprise scale secure wireless implementations. Researched, developed, validated, and standardized network architecture, QOS implementation, security, and vendor interoperability between Avaya and Cisco (both native and hybrid IOS) equipment. Developed and standardized pre-sales network qualification process. Developed, tested, validated, and standardized post-implementation network assessment process using NETIQ.

Managed a converged network solution including a multi vendor production VOIP implementation. Created the documentation sets for the existing corporate infrastructure and formulated an implementation plan to address issues impacting the operation. Converted the backbone to OSPF, and applied NSA security practices to the corporate infrastructure equipment.

Provided engineering, operational, and architectural support of the DOT IDN backbone. Senior member of the implementation team for the Transportation Security Administration infrastructure rollout. Completed a major redesign of the DOT DMZ network and implemented private VLAN’s. Secured Research Special Projects Agency infrastructure devices to NSA specifications. Implemented and managed MRTG, Cisco Works, Cisco Secure ACS, and User Resource Tracking. Implemented and managed VPN and dial based remote access solutions. Administrator of the Cisco Works 2000 and HP Open View network management platforms. Implemented Laser and Microwave band wireless solutions between federal office buildings. Created an AutoCAD based multilayer map of the DOT core and backbone. Implemented intrusion detection (SNORT). Evaluated and tested numerous vendors’ hardware and software for a range of network operation applications.

Provided consultation services to Fortune 500 clients. Re-engineered the corporate transit network removed bottlenecks and provided full redundancy for the CSC corporate backbone in Fairview Park. The end design significantly improved performance and reliability more than 70,000 users. Awarded three contract extensions totaling 15 months.
