As a H&W coach I help clients identify well being issues they'd like to address, including nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, weight loss, stress reduction and lifestyle changes that reduce the impact of chronic conditions. My website notes that I am not a medical professional, rather I engage with clients as a trusted and empathetic sounding-board who helps find ways to make the changes they seek, then holds them accountable as they adopt and maintain behaviors that reinforce new, healthier lifestyles. As I transition to a new and growing field of Wellness Coaching, I see a connection to the last 10 years I spent supporting efforts to prepare youth for today’s workforce. With a new wave of apprenticeship and high school and community college programs that prepare youth for careers and enable them to document their pathway to acquiring those attributes I think we can increase opportunities for many. But for youth and adults alike, health and wellness remain a fundamental core that impacts our lives, so in my new role I hope to contribute by assisting in supporting adoption of healthy habits that empower people to avoid obstacles that can be addressed through adopting health-promoting behaviors.It's important to note that health & wellness are critical components of preparedness for educational and career readiness across all demographics of the population. I hope to draw on what I've learned consulting on projects related to workforce development for education providers and regional Workforce Development Boards where I:☛ Designed and managed K-14 educational initiatives☛ Evaluated national, statewide and local educational initiatives and teacher training☛ Conducted and reported on educational policy research ☛ Lead stakeholder engagement around research and evaluation ☛ Communicated outcomes to diverse audiences ☛ Transformed program evaluation data and research to enhance CTE programs In my post-June-2022 role as a Health & Wellness Coach, I will work with individual H&W clients and develop outreach and programming for English Learner and Low Income communities to support youth and adults' efforts to improve physical, mental, and emotional health so that they are ready to apply lessons and training to succeed.☛ Contact me at: david@coachdavidwellness.com
