David Simon is a Senior Financial Services Executive and Board Member, who currently is an Executive Payments Advisor to Checkalt, while driving a number of other exciting initiatives. Previously, David was the Chief Operating Officer of Newtek Merchant Solutions, a multi-platform payments provider, and an Executive and Board Member of Newtek Bank, NA, where he was instrumental in the bank's acquisition and regulatory approval. Before Newtek, David led Visa's Global Small Business Team, where he established Visa as the market-share leader in every major market, driving double digit growth, and transforming products and services. Prior to Visa, David founded and was the CEO of TriStar Payments, focusing on the distribution of corporate funds in the Specialty Finance, Higher Education, and Healthcare Sectors. Concurrently, he served as the Head of Prepaid and Credit Cards, and Senior Adviser for Payment Solutions for One West Bank. David spent 13 years at Citigroup in a variety of leadership roles, and was a Member of Citigroup’s Management Committee. As an EVP in the North America Consumer Bank, David led Citi Cards Customer Engagement to maximize profitability and deepen relationships with 140 million accounts. David also ran Citi Cards Small Business Organization, managed Internet Business Development globally, and served as Electronic Commerce Counsel. David began his professional career as Counsel to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, where he concentrated on bank mergers, acquisitions, and electronic commerce matters. He has served as a board member of Banamex USA, Citibank (South Dakota), N.A., and Operation Hope. David is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Boston University School of Law. He lives in NY with his wife Melissa and their two children.
