I have a deep devotion to community building, social justice work, and human connection. I earned a Bachelor’s in Public Affairs with a minor in Latin American Studies, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Seattle University. Throughout my professional career in human resources, I have enjoyed most the human aspect of the work, including engaging and energizing teams, meaningful collaboration with leaders on DEI initiatives, and responding to personal crisis and environmental impacts. Aside from work, I enjoy spending time volunteering for causes and organizations I care deeply about. This includes long-term volunteer work I have done with One Equal Heart (OEH) Foundation. As OEH’s newest board member, I've gained a renewed excitement about reengaging with the community in Chiapas, where I once spent an entire summer learning from and working alongside the Zapatistas in their Caracoles, or autonomous municipalities. It was through this experience that I earned a certificate in Mexican Social Movements from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana- Xochimilco, Mexico City. As the son of Mexican immigrant parents who labored in agricultural fieldwork, I grew up in Lower Yakima Valley of Washington State and developed a profound connection with marginalized communities. I now live in the Greater Seattle Area. In my free time and for fun, I venture out to places with warmer climates in the company of family and friends. I consider myself to be adventurous and a foodie who enjoys experiencing different cultures and learning new languages.Let's connect and work together to build a network founded on engagement, empathy, care, trust, inclusivity and belonging!
