Belize

I was hired to provide technical assistance to the National Authorising Office, Ministries of Work, and Education & Health in the design and implementation of Banana Accompanying Measures’ projects life cycle, funded by the European Union. • Responsible for supporting the development of the infrastructure to enable the tax-free sale of bananas according to EU export quality standards.• Assisting various Governmental Offices in the preparation and review of tender documents, designs, specifications and estimates, and with project launch and evaluation.• Supporting on the accuracy and quality of tender processes and trouble-shooting on issues arising during execution of works.• Supervising infrastructure contracts for the construction of roads, buildings, water supply and sanitation systems.• Monitoring daily progress and implementing stringent quality control processes on sites.• Working with third parties such as utility providers, police, local government officials and other agencies to ensure effective collaboration among all project stakeholders.

Belize

I was hired to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Works (MoW) Project Execution Unit and National Authorising Office (NAO) in design, management and implementation of the $60 million Belize Rural Development Project II (BRDP II) life cycle, funded by the EU.• Supported the timely preparation of tenders, assisted in preparing technical specifications and initiating infrastructure projects.• Reviewed work plans, project designs and bills of quantities.• Monitored daily progress and implemented quality control on sites.• Supervised the construction of roads and market buildings at preliminary services.• Verified contractors’ internal payment certificates and analysed any claims.• Advised on any issues that arose during the execution of works.

Mexico

During my time in Mexico I was registered as an Independent Civil Engineer in Mexico and gained a valid work permit.Supported and Advised various organisations and private citizens on Civil Engineering projects throughout the province.

Mozambique

I was engaged to project manage and implement a $7.6million water and sanitation project to improve the quality, efficiency and sustainability of water supply, sanitation and hygiene facilities in targeted communities across Mozambique. • Directed IRD’S infrastructure projects in Mozambique from Zambezia, Inhambane & Sofala province to ensure compliance with national policies and regulation.• Led a team of 2 project managers, 4 project coordinators, 18 office staff, 24 technical staff and 150 field staff to provide engineering solutions for developing projects.• Translated project ideas in the fields of water, agriculture and income generation into small community projects by providing engineering solitons. • Produced feasibility studies, programme plans, detailed engineering designs, tender documents and technical reports, in line with national standards and obtained authorisations to begin work.• Monitored and controlled progress and performance through baseline surveys of established indicators to improve performance and achieve results. • Identified, prepared, appraised and negotiated lending operations related to water and sanitation, urban infrastructure, and environmental services.• Developed and maintained productive relationships with Subcontractors, Consultants and Government Agencies.

Santa Cruz De Tenerife Area, Spain

I was hired to manage, administer and implement 12 construction projects ranging from €0.6 million to €4 million in value; this included a car park, road and highway pavement, retaining walls, utility installations and a wastewater treatment plant and pumping station.• Supervised three Construction Engineers and an average of 20 site staff per project.• Led preparation and management of proposals, scope of works, budget controls, timelines, specifications and cost estimates.• Managed stakeholders including clients, contractors and major asset owners.• Organised human and material resources on site, monitoring progress against budget.• Negotiated modifications with architects and consulting engineers.• Led monthly financial analysis of company profits and losses with the Chief Executive Officer.

Cambridge, Reino Unido

Oversaw the preparation of scope documentation, technical specifications, tender documentation, design documents, and provision of technical input to the project as and when required. Duties:• Involved on the strategic plan and redesign of Cambridge wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) design;• Identified project environmental issues, implications and water quality standards;• Assisted to find new water resources for Severn Trent Utility Water Company; • Produced economical analysis of metered household water supply for Anglian Utility Water Company;• Assisted with the Anglian Water WWTP design.

Área De Banda Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia

Led all water and sanitation operations in Aceh Province during the Tsunami reconstruction. Duties:• Supervised a team of 36 office staff directly and indirectly supported another 240 staff in the field; • Managed the construction of water wells, gravity water supply systems, rainwater harvesting, latrines and water analysis laboratory;• Implemented an integrated approach to include messages about health, safety, nutrition, and environmental factors affecting target communities;• Compiled, checked and approved reports.

República De Chad

Oversaw implementation of a European Commission (ECHO) water and sanitation project during the Darfur conflict.Duties:• Managed the water management survey, local staff training, hygiene promotion, water analysis laboratory, borehole and shallow well construction activities;• Supervised the refugee camp water supply according to SPHERE standards.

London, Reino Unido

Produced engineering design documents and provided technical input to water infrastructure projects.Duties:• Tested river modelling using HEC-RAS for the National Environmental Agency (flood defence projects); • Produced water supply distribution networks modelling using EPANET; • Elaborated an Operational Maintenance Manual for a reservoir at the Great Manmade River in Libya; • Carried out physical inspection of small reservoir and submission of investigation results to the government; • Studied the historical water sources in Croydon for a cable tunnel (CTRL contract 240); • Prepared feasibility study report of Netherbury Flood Defence for the National Environmental Agency;• Calculated the stability of Koka Dam in Ethiopia; • Supervised the contractor on the Littlestone Sea Flood Defence project.

Afganistán

Responsible to implement the European Commission (ECHO) and UNHCR emergency projects in northern Afghanistan. The projects involved a water management survey, local staff training, hygiene promotion, water analysis laboratory, well construction training, irrigation canals (€25,000), 30 shallow well construction & 10 deep wells (40,000€), 3 gravity water supply systems (310,000€) and 2 spring water catchments (20,000€) funded by ECHO; an urban water supply feasibility study funded by IOM ($1.5M proposal) and the irrigation dam construction, funded by UNHCR ($80,000).

Rest Of Tibet, China

Volunteer support to the NGO orphanage schools construction activities and provide technical information for new construction proposals in Tibet. The project involved the construction of rural gravity water supply system, where the one of the orphanage schools was located, to prepare feasibility studies for additional gravity water supply systems in the rural areas, and to install a new electric line to support room electric heaters in two orphanages.
