As Senior Counsel in Google's Gemini AI and Chrome legal teams, I enjoy a hybrid Product and Commercial Counsel role focused on artificial intelligence and enterprise software. Working hand-in-hand with senior product, compliance, engineering, marketing, and sales groups, I lead a team to help ensure our products provide the best possible experience for users, while advising on rapidly evolving privacy rights, minimizing risk, and navigating global laws and regulations. I also represent Google externally to international regulators, partners and industry bodies, negotiating agreements and relationships, as well as acting as an internal expert for AI, privacy, and business initiatives.

As the second lawyer at Cloudflare, I reported directly to the General Counsel to solve the legal issues facing a rapidly growing, international technology company. With a focus on product counseling, commercial agreements, and privacy, I worked closely with the sales, marketing, product and engineering teams to bring new products and services to market, and negotiate and draft a wide array of agreements used in our daily business. During my time at Cloudflare, the company grew rapidly, with a core part of my role being to scale our legal processes both internally and externally in the lead-up to our IPO.

In Silicon Valley, I enjoyed a broad commercial practice, advising technology clients on numerous different legal issues involving governance, capital markets, venture capital, financing, securities and M&A matters. My clients included both emerging businesses as well as established global corporations, representing a wide variety of technology companies from the software, app development, semiconductor, hardware, mobile, digital media, enterprise and internet infrastructure industries, as well as a number of leading venture capital funds. A number of my clients also operated in the lifescience and biotechnology space, enabling me to draw upon my medical expertise. When counseling companies, I routinely worked with founders and boards of directors on all aspects of the business life cycle, from formation through equity and debt financings, secondary sales, employment and IP matters, to IPO and other liquidity events.

Based in New York City, my practice involved representing both private and public companies in a wide array of corporate transactions. These included private equity, joint ventures, M&A, financings and other commercial, regulatory and governance matters. I managed all aspects of deals including negotiating and drafting key documents, ancillary agreements and corporate governance papers, while supervising a tight-knit team. My clients ranged from innovative start-ups to global Fortune 500 companies, as well as a number of leading international financial institutions and private equity firms.

Working on minors' rights, I defended youth in California public schools, educating teachers, administrators and students on the law. Cases involved freedom of speech, racial justice, LGBT rights, immigrants’ rights and jurisdictional authority, among others. I authored a guide to California law and presented at institutions across the state.
