Project managed a PBX Messaging technical project team consisting of both Nortel and contract software designers totaling 31 people. Scrum of Scrum Master to 4 Agile/Scrum teams, developing the next release MultiMedia CallPilot Messaging system. Lead activities with marketing product owner to solicit and clarify product requirements to the design team. Continually developing and evolving Agile design processes to develop best practices. Chair and coordinate sprint planning, grooming, demos and retrospectives. Ensure all design procedures follow ISO 9001 practices. Key Achievements• Developed and published Agile processes for; software builds, defect tracking, document repository including Wiki and backlog stories, requirement tracking.• Met all design business decision point deliverables including; strategic readiness, market readiness, business readiness moving the program from plan of intent to plan of record, preparing executive chart ware.• Drove requirements agreement between business owners and technology for feature delivery.• Successfully maintained and tracked to development budget.

Project managed a PBX security team consisting of both Nortel and contract software designers, providing technical leadership and coordination. Provide schedules and regular updates to the overall release prime, coordinated with other technology primes. Followed and promoted Nortel’s USDRP self-developed software delivery process working to increase CMMI levels. Key Achievements• Successfully delivered 5 anchor security features to CS1000 major release 6, exceeding quality targets and meeting committed delivery dates.• After arriving mid way through the design cycle and realizing serious architectural issues, tackled the issue bringing in additional subject matter experts and driving a new implementation plan to successful completion.• Successfully passed ISO 9001 audit of responsible design deliverables with no non-conformances.

Managed a product verification team consisting of 6 members. Role included functional, project and budget responsibilities. Drove best-in-class testing including; product regression, system, solution, new feature, load and capacity, robustness and defects. Was the verification teams representative to the business Integrated Project Team, preparing, coordinating and delivering gated deliverables. Coordinated and participated in the delivery of test plans, test cases and delivery of test results.Key Deliverables• Revived a manager-less team to become an effective/cohesive/productive team, providing leadership and clear direction.• Coordinated first-time formal verification testing of a new messaging product (UM2K), working closely with and providing constructive feedback to the design team. Product design changed significantly due to teams thorough testing resulting in product stability and quality.

Project managed CallPilot release 5 (CP5) as technology prime from the requirements phase to general availability, with a team consisting of 8 Nortel and 16 offshore contract designers. Project managed CallPilot release 4-1005r new platform release. Followed and ensured team adherence to ISO 9001 standards. Core member of Integrated Project Team representing technology providing regular project status updates. Key Achievements• Delivered CP5 to trials and customers meeting committed delivery dates and exceeding quality targets (.3 defects/kloc, 95% pass rate, 0 blocking defects)• CP5 formal audit from QMI resulted in 0 non-conformances.• CP5 post general availability quality results +3/+6 months exceeded previous releases and expectations, confirming the overall all excellent quality.• Delivered CallPilot 4 1005r platform refresh on schedule to expected quality levels.

Feature prime reporting to the technology prime for refreshing CallPilot operating system from Windows NT to Windows 2003. Key contact to Microsoft and architect in operating system refresh. Designed database applications as architect/developer for the CallPilot messaging system using Sybase relational database, ERWin modeling tool and Microsoft Visual Studio. Provided and tracked R&D project estimates including resource, capital and expense items. Developed required documentation (feature spec, detailed design, and high level design) in accordance with ISO development requirements. Fixed product defects following team’s processes and procedures in the required timeframes.Key Achievements• During OS refresh, developed and coordinated the integration of Microsoft’s SAK (server appliance kit), SLP (software licensing and protection), and OPK (OEM pre-installation kit) to formally package and distribute our application.• Developed and productized a product upgrade document based on customer feedback, significantly reducing upgrade times and providing clarity.• Prepared and presented technical and knowledge transfers of the OS refresh content to internal service and documentation organizations, external partners and customers and to sustaining contacters.

Led a team of 6 in the development and delivery of the Data Access Portal web application to deliver all required data to manufacturing sites and contact manufacturers. Worked with program and portfolio managers and customers to solicit requirements, provide estimates, create project schedules, coordinate delivery and support our applications. Manufacturing subject matter expert in processes and procedures related to PCB manufacture.

Led a small team consisting of on-site and remote Nortel designers plus contractor in the development of end-to-end PCB surface mount placement applications. Developed a wireless dynamic feeder management system based on an Oracle database C++. Developed Java/Oracle applications to generate manufacturing reports from Baan ERP system. Developed/implemented/supported manufacturing applications on HPUX/C, VMS/C in support of PCB through-hole insertion and surface mount equipment.
