To maintain and operate submarine systems such as Propulsion (shafting, electric motor main motors and v18 diesel engines) , Electrical power control and distribution, Hydraulics, High pressure air, low pressure air, ballast, sewage, various cooling water systems, air conditioning, weapons discharge system (including embarking and disembarking torpedoes from the submarine), weight compensation and trim systems at operations at sea and along side in various ports.Other duties include emergency response to situations such as not limited to fire fighting, flooding, toxic gas, casualty, high pressure air burst, hydraulic burst, self oxidising fuel spills, propulsion failure, electrical failure.

I was responsible for conducting maintenance of all non electrical systems such as engines, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, undercarriage, interior and exterior furnishings, lifting systems and aircraft structural repair on Westland sea king and NH industries MRH-90 helicopters (metal and composite) as well as conducting flight control operations. During this time I was also tasked with the management of the specialist tooling, consumables and test equipment section where I was responsible for maintaining and providing these items to the squadron for day to day operations on base and for away base detachments.

I was responsible for the accountability and calibration of all tools and test equipment for the squadron as well as the acquisition and/or design of new specialist tools and I was responsible for all hazardous substances regarding their stock, storage and safety information
