About David Schaffer

Our research program applies engineering principles to problems in cell biology and bioengineering. Our laboratory focuses on the related fields of stem cell biology and gene therapy. Specifically, we are studying signal transduction and gene regulation networks that control the behavior of stem cells. In parallel, we are working on the basic development of specific viral vectors to improve gene delivery vehicle performance for therapeutic applications, including stem cell-based therapies.
