State Schools' Relief Inc.[SSR] grew out of the "great depression," through the education community supporting poverty stricken students with food, footwear and clothing.Today SSR supports students in Government schools with new foorwear and clothing following an application for assistance from the school principal. As government provides administrative costs SSR relies on corporate partners, philanthropic trusts and donations from schools and individuals. 100% of donations goes to the provision of footwear and clothing. 2011/2012 financial year SSR supported 10,758 applications for support at a cost of $700,000.SSR is a registered Not for Profit Charity with ATO Endorsement as a deductible gift recipient.As CEO I:-- was executive to the Board / Audit, Risk and Finance Committee / Fundraising Committee.- managed staff and the development of Strategic Fundraising Initiatives/activities.- reported to an independent Board and through the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development [DEECD] - The Minister of Education -Speak at Principal Conferences/Meetings; Major Stakeholder Conferences;Schools and Corporate groups.- Managed major stakeholder relationships [Government; Corporate; Education]- Raised funds to maintain the essential service of assistance..See: www.ssr.net.au
