Whilst being mainly retired, am on the School Council of the wonderful Le Page Primary School and have initiated an event on"The Voice To Parliament " with Kingston Council on July 15.I'm a proud "Lollipop Man" in Argus St Cheltenham for the first half of the week.After 8 years as CEO of State Schools' Relief Inc. I handed over the reins to another in 2015. The task of taking this wonderful organisation towards its potential will be challenging, rewarding and exciting. I wish the Board and satff of SSR the very best. An experienced educator, School Principal for 21 years in a variety of schools [including 10 as Principal in Juvenile Justice]; Manager of a Registered Training Organisation and CEO of a Not For profit Charity - State Schools' Relief Inc.[www.ssr.net.au] Having experienced school failure as a student I was passionate as an educator about pedagogical practises and how teachers engaged with and challenged all students.As CEO of SSR I was committed to ensuring that no student in a Victorian Government school was denied access to full school participation because of their inability to purchase appropriate footwear and clothing.Following a radical prostatectomy [Feb 2008] I chose to use my skills as an educator and trainer to assist in the awareness of prostate cancer and support the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.[PCFA] As an Ambassador for the PCFA, I spoke with Corporate bodies, Clubs; other Community Organisations, Mens Health Forums and individuals about Prostate Cancer and my journey with the disease.As a Victorian PCFA Board member I focused on Fundraising and awareness campaigns.After 9 years on the Board I resigned as I strongly disagreed with PCFA Policy on digital rectal examination by GP's.
